Stiches for Kaden
Since I'm finally catching up I have to tell the ER event that took place. Tantrums have become a reoccurring thing in our household several times a day. One evening Kaden was throwing a tantrum going up the stairs to go get a bath. He had been ornery all evening and I finally said "YOUR DONE" its bath time. I was holding Maddox and Kaden was two steps a head of me. Kaden got to the landing and started to roll around and throw a bigger fit then slid down on his tummy two stairs got up and BAM!!! hit the corner wood pillar at the top of the stairs. I was right behind him and as soon as I saw the blood I KNEW!!!! I immediately laid Maddox down in a safe place called Christian who was downstairs and told him to get Maddox. Then I grabbed Kaden took him to the sink and began to take a close look and apply pressure. At first I was in panic and I didnt know what to do. I took Kaden to the tub to calm him down and wash him up to see if I could get a better look. Once he was playing and not crying I was able to see he had two major cuts that were severely deep. Kaden finished his bath and I took him to the Boerne ER right after. Christian stayed home and put Maddox down and met us up there a while later. The ER was a smaller location so we were seen right away. The doctor came in and looked at it and said we would need stitches on the inside and out of his mouth. At first we went with the NO drug approach first just so we would get discharged faster but I would never do that again. It took three nurses to hold him down and the whole time he screamed soooooo bad. It was such a traumatic experience for both of us. The doctor got three stiches done and I said GIVE him drugs please. I called christian and told him to come up it was too hard to do alone. As we waited for Christian the Nurse came in to give him two shots of meds that was suppose to kinda knock him out and calm him down. I have to say once they kicked in it was sad but funny. Kaden was making noises and laughing so hard at what he did. The doctors came in 15 minutes after the shots and went in to do the other cut. Even after drugs Kaden still fought the three nurses. Its amazing how strong a little two year old is. The doctor was in shock that even after the dose they gave him he still fought. I felt so sad to see my baby crying, scared, and helpless. Once it was all over KAden was ready to go home and be with mommy and daddy. We put him in his bed but because of the traumatic experience he was totally afraid of BUZZ, WOODY and the characters of toy story on his sheets. Christian and I let Kaden sleep with us that night. I slept wonderfully just waking up when Maddox wanted to eat. However Christian sleeps on the side of the bed that Kaden does so the little man pretty much was all over his daddy that night. Through this traumatic experience Kaden really hasn't learned much., he still throws fits and is a naughty boy at times but Im grateful he is a healthy and happy boy MOST of the time.

I would have been crazy mom! But luckily I am pretty calm, Gavin has already had two bumps....no blood yet (knocking on wood). Boys will be boys I guess, laughing gas or not!
